eAuction #21, Lot 104. Estimate: CHF 1'500.00
Titus (79-81 AD). Aureus (18 mm, 6.94 g), Roma (Rome), 79 AD. Obv. IMP TITVS CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M, laureate head right. Rev. TR P VIIII IMP XIIII COS VII P P, quadriga left, containing three grain ears; car decorated with garland. RIC II 24; Calicó 762.
Good fine.
An interesting reverse depiction, copied from coins of Augustus and probably referring to a procession in honour of Ceres or Annona.
