Kings of Pontos. Mithradates VI (c. 120-63 BC). AV Stater (19 mm, 8.30 g), first Mithradatic war issue, struck c. 88-86 VC. In the name and types of Lysimachos. Kallatis mint.
Obv. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon.
Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΛYΣIMAXOY, Athena Nikephoros seated left; HP to inner left, KAΛ on throne; in exergue, ornate trident left.
Callatay p. 140, dies D6/R2.

Excellent style for the type. Minor edge bump on reverse at 2 o'clock, otherwise extremely fine.

Early obverse die state without the usual heavy die rust and die breaks.
