Leontinoi, Sicily. AR Tetradrachm (26 mm, 17.25 g), c. 450-440 BC.
Obv. Laureate head of Apollo right.
Rev. ΛEO-NTI-NO-Σ, head of roaring lion right, four barley grains around.
Boehringer pl. 11, 35ff; SNG ANS 231 (same reverse die).

Obverse slightly off-centre, otherwise, extremely fine.

From a French collection, formed in the 1970ies and 80ies.
