Constantius I, as Caesar (293-305 AD). AE Follis (27 mm, 9.00 g), Trevei (Trier), 296-297 AD. Obv. CONSTANTIVS NOB CAES, laureate and cuirassed bust left; holding spear over right shoulder and shield on left; shield decorated with Victory standing left between captives, holding wreath and palm. Rev. GENIO POPVLI ROMANI, Genius standing left, modius on head, naked but for chlamys over left shoulder, right holding patera over altar, left cornucopiae; B in left, Γ in right field. Ex. TR. RIC VI, Trier, 222a; Bastien Buste Mon. -.
An apparently unpublished shield decoration. Very fine.
