Uncertain tribes, imitating Valentinianus I (364-375 AD). AE1 (28 mm, 9.11 g), uncertain mint.
Obv. D N VALENTINIANVS P F AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right.
Rev. Fantasy legend, Emperor in military dress standing left, holding labarum and Victory on globe.

What makes this imitation particularly charming is the fact that while the obverse legend is fully readable, the reverse is completely blundered - except for the PVBLICHE, which is spelled almost correctly. The dies apparently were the product of different die cutters, of which at least one was completely illiterate.
