Thessaly, Larissa. AR Trihemiobol (13 mm, 1.29 g), c. 440-400 BC. Obv. Horseman, his petasos and chlamys hanging around neck, riding left, holding two spears; S (retrograde) to upper right, O below. Λ-A above, P-ISA (S retrograde) downward to right, the nymph Larissa seated right on chair with back terminating in swan’s head, holding a ball in raised left hand, a hoop in right; all within shallow incuse square. BCD Thessaly II 158 (same obv. die).
Minor porosity. Lightly toned and very fine.
