Bactria, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Menander I (155-130 BC). AR Tetdradrachm (25 mm, 6.66 g). Obv. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΣΩΤΗΡOΣ / ΜΕΝΑΝΔΡOΥ, Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right, wearing a Macedonian helmet. Rev. Athena Alkidemos, facing and hurling thunderbolt to left, monogram in left field; Kharoshthi legend around. Bopearachchi 15; SNG ANS 847var (differing monogram).
Darkly toned and somewhat porous, otherwise, almost extremely fine.
