Sicily, Syracuse. AR Tetradrachm (24-28 mm, 16.73 g), c. 430 BC. Obv. Charioteer driving walking quadriga right, holding kentron in right
hand, reins in both; Nike flying above and crowning horses. Rev. Head of
Arethusa to right, hair in sphendone, surrounded by four dolphins swimming. Boehringer 644 (V327/R443); SNG ANS 209 (same dies); BMC 113 (same dies).
Die-break on reverse. Traces of cleaning and smoothing. Very fine.
