Kings of Macedon. Alexander III "the Great" (336-323 BC). AR Drachm (17 mm, 4.15 g), Magnesia mint. Struck under Philip Arrhidaios. Obv. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. Zeus Aëtophoros seated left, legs crossed, ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ to right; bee right in left field, spearhead to outer right. Price 1937.
Old cabinet tone and very fine.
