eAuction #79, Lot 7. Estimate: CHF 50.00
Calabria, Tarentum (?). AE 12 (3.06 g), 4th-3rd century BC. Obv. Cockle shell. Rv. Plain. Vlasto 1852 (as unpublished).
Very rare and struck in high relief. Green patina, very fine.
Oscar Ravel, when compiling the Vlasto Collection in 1947, suggested an Etrurian origin for this coin.
