London. Part I (1924) 72 pages, portrait, plates I-VIII. Part II (1925) 39
pages, plates IX-XIX. Two-book set; 8vo,
taped linen spine, printed boards worn, sprung. Good.

 A
note from BCD: The rare original,
complete in two volumes, with plates far superior to the reprint. For someone
seriously fond of coins the chapters dealing with the life and times of Becker
read like a suspense novel. Forgeries by this “mischievous but incomparable
genius” still circulate in the trade and it would be a mistake for today’s coin
dealers not to consult this book when preparing their auction catalogues. | |
