eAuction #51 - Literature sale III, Los 63. Schätzpreis: CHF 15.00
Wroth, Warwick. “Asklepios and the coins of Pergamon,”
NC 3rd ser., vol. II
(1882) 51 pages, 3 plates. Paper cover with cut out original printed card cover
stuck on. Page 1 and 2 of text foxed. Good. Daehn 4664
A note from BCD: Wroth (footnote 24) is on the right track here when he
mentions the connection of BMC Mysia pl. XXIV, 5 with the well known “Syros”
tetradrachms that have now finally been reattributed to Pergamon. See “The
Closed Currency System of the Attalid Kingdom” by Andrew Meadows in: Peter
Thonemann, Editor, “Attalid Asia Minor”, pp. 184-186.
