mm, 47.05 g). Rome, 140-144. Obv. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS III, Laureate head
left. Rev. Mercurius walking left, holding caduceus in left hand, he places his right hand on a ram springing left; to left, decorated column with Silen's mask atop. Gnecchi --; Michelini Tocci --; Dressel --; BM --; Toynbee -- (cf. plate XL, 6).
Extremely rare and with a fascinating reverse Scene likely connected to the bacchanalian traditions. Pierced in antiquity. With a pleasant green patina and about very fine.
