S.A. Nice, 6-7 November 1976. Monnaies, Médailles. 680 lots, illustrated, 7
colour plates. Prices realized list. Original illustrated glossy white hard
covers, black spine letters. Fine.
A note from BCD: The “Hotel Negresco sale” as it was known at the time
was a short-lived joint effort between Bernth Ahlström of Galerie des Monnaies
in Geneva and Credit de la Bourse in Paris. The auction is well known for the
impressive group of sestertii offered in addition to the varied selection of
other ancient and modern coins and medals. Three of the seven additional colour
plates allow us to appreciate the splendour of these sestertii in all their
magnificence.
