eAuction #51 - Literature sale III, Lot 109. Estimate: CHF 20.00
Delaune, René. Paris, 3-4 November 1920. Collection de
Roucy. Monnaies antiques, monnaies Françaises, médailles, jetons, sceaux. 519
lots, 4 plates tipped in. Original printed green paper covers, chipped, loose.
Good.
A note from BCD: Some attractive ancients, mostly Roman sestertii and
a number of medals and seals are the notable illustrated items on the four
plates that are attached to the De Roucy catalogue. It is interesting to note
that the cataloguer’s reference book for the Roman Republic coins was Babelon’s
“Monnaies de la Republique Romaine” whereas the plentiful and accurately
described Roman imperials were listed according to the second edition of
Cohen’s “Description des monnaies de l’ Empire romain”.
