A worn Achaean League bronze, countermarked on the reverse with a small figure of Zeus striding right, hurling thunderbolt; to left, monogram FA; to right, ΣE. Nicolet 1992, 5; BCD Peloponnesos 671 (this coin). Very rare. Host coin fine, countermark very fine. The countermark was probably after 146 AD to validate the continued circulation of Achaean League Tetrachalkoi in Elis. From the BCD collection and ex LHS 96 (2006), 671.
