A note from BCD: The
Hess-Leu venture is gaining ground. More variety and better coins appear in
this catalogue but the photography is still carried out in a Lucerne photo
studio and the prices realized list still issued by Hess. This makes sense
though as the entire exercise still takes place at the elegant Schweizerhof
Hotel in Lucerne, where Jacob Hirsch conducted his legendary Naville-Ars
Classica sales in the 30’s.
