eAuction #51 - Literature sale III, Lot 158. Estimate: CHF 10.00
Schulman, Jacques. Amsterdam, 30 January-1 February
1956. Catalogue No. 226. Coins and Medals. 2179 lots, 33 plates. Prices
realized list. Illustrated white card covers as issued. Worn, plate 33 crimped
at corner. Good.
A note from BCD: This, and the twenty-eight other Jacques Schulman
catalogues that follow, give a good idea of the firm’s auction activity from
the mid 50’s to the early 90’s. The accent was of course on Dutch coins and
medals but ancients were also included, sometimes entire private collections or
individual items of importance. These catalogues are seldom encountered and are
very useful for pedigrees. In this one there are nearly three plates of Greek,
Roman and Byzantine.
