Honorius (393-423 AD). AV Solidus (20 mm, 4.41 g), Constantinopolis (Istanbul), c. 397-402. Obv. D N HONORIVS P F AVG, helmeted, diademed and cuirassed bust facing, holding spear over his right shoulder and with shield, ornamented with a horseman spearing a fallen foe, over his left. Rev. CONCORDIA AVGGΔ, Constantinopolis enthroned facing, head right, holding scepter and Victory on globe, and placing right foot on prow of ship; CONOB in exergue. RIC 8; Depeyrot 55/2.
Insignificant scratch below bust, otherwise, about extremely fine.
