Kings of Macedon. Alexander III 'the Great' (336-323 BC). AR Tetradrachm (25 mm, 17.12 g), Babylon, 324/3 BC. Obv. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ BAΣIΛEΩΣ, Zeus seated left on high-backed throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with wings closed; below throne ΛY, in left field, M. Price 3692; Müller 1272.
Scratch on ob- and scuff on reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
