Antoninus Pius (138-161 AD). Tetradrachm (23-25 mm, 13.52 g), Alexandria, Year 22 = 158/159 AD. Obv. ANTΩNINOC CEB EYCEB, Laureate and draped bust right. Rev. Ares seated left on cuirass, holding Nike and parazonium; LKB across fields. Milne 2374; RPC online temp. 13916; Geissen 1810.
Good very fine.
Comes with a hand-written ticket from Münzen & Medaillen AG Basel stock, stating that it was purchased in 1974 for 80 CHF.
