eAuction #7, Lot 99. Estimate: CHF 200.00
Aurelianus (270-275 AD). AE Sestertius (24 mm, 8.00 g), Rome (Roma). Obv. IMP AVRELIANVS AVG, laureate and cuirassed bust right. Rev. CONCORDIA AVG, Aurelian and Severina standing clasping hands; in field above, radiate and draped bust of Sol right. Ex. Δ. RIC V, p. 275, 80.
Apple-green patina. Good very fine.
The authors of RIC call this an As, but compared to other Sestertii and Double Sestertii of the time, it is much more likely to be a Sestertius.
