Messene, Peloponnesos. AE Hemiobol or Hexachalkon (21 mm, 7.78 g), c. 180-150 BC. Obv. Diademed head of Demeter right. Rev. Zeus Ithomatas standing right, hurling thunderbolt and holding eagle; to left, ME above KΛ; to right, tripod. BMC 22; Grandjean 302a (this coin, illustrated).
Rare. Light green patina. Very fine.
