Messene, Peloponnesos. AE Hemiobol or Hexachalkon (20 mm, 8.72 g), c. 180-150 BC. Obv. Diademed head of Demeter right. Rev. Zeus Ithomatas standing right, hurling thunderbolt and holding eagle; to left, ME above ΔI in wreath; to right, tripod. Grandjean 272a (this coin, illustrated).
Rare. Nice patina. Very fine.
