Macrinus (217-218 AD). AR Denarius (18 mm, 3.41 g), Rome,
spring-summer 217. Obv. IMP C M OPEL SEV MACRINVS AVG, Laureate and cuirassed
bust to right. Rev. SALVS PVBLICA Salus seated left, feeding
serpent, rising from altar, out of patera with her right hand and
holding long scepter in her left. RIC 84; BMC 115; Clay Issue 1.
Perfectly centered and with a particularly fine portrait. Extremely fine.
