Septimius Severus (193-211 AD). AE 2 Assaria (25 mm, 9.62 g), Corinth. Obv. L SEPT SEV PER IMP VIII, laureate and heroically nude bust left, seen from behind, holding spear in right and shield in left; to left, countermark: head of emperor right. Rev. C L I COR, Victory in fast biga right, holding reins and whip. BCD Korinth 848 (this coin); for countermark, Howgego 56.
Rare. Flan crack and slightly bent flan from countermark, otherwise, nice very fine.
