Kings of Macedon. Alexander III "The Great" (336-323 BC). AR Tetradrachm (28-30 mm, 17.39 g), Lampsacus, c. 280-275 BC. Obv. Head of Herakles to right
wearing lion-skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus enthroned left holding
eagle and scepter; in left field, monogram above forepart of Pegasus; ΔK
monogram under throne. Price 1449; SNG Saroglos 417.
Of excellent style. Insignificant nick on edge, otherwise, extremely fine.
