Merovingians. Darantasia (Mouthiers-en-Tarentaise, Haute-Savoie). AV Triens (13 mm, 1.18 g). Moneyer Genegiselus (?).
Obv. DARANTASA FIT, diademed bust right.
Rev. +GENEG ... MV, cross on steps.
Belfort - (cf. 1689-1715).
Extremely rare. Minor doubling, otherwise, good very fine.
The name on the reverse might read as GENEG[ISELVS] = Genegiselus, a moneyer known from coins from Noviomus (Noyon, cf. Belfort 3234 f.) but hitherto unattested for Darantasia.
