eAuction #34, Lot 180. Estimate: CHF 750.00
Qajar Dynasty. Fat'h Ali Shah Qajar (1797-1834 AD). AV Toman 1235 AH (22-23 mm, 4.61 g), Hujur-e Sa'd Iravan (Yerevan, Armenia). Album 2865.
Rare. Good extremely fine.
Ex Heritage January 2013, 21892, described as "perhaps the finest known".
The epithet "hujur-e sa'd" has been variously interpreted, but may be translated as either "the place of good fortune" or "the stone of good fortune". It was used on coins of Iravan (Yerevan in modern Armenia) only during the 1230s.
