Caracalla (198-217 AD). AR Denarius (17-18 mm, 3.88 g), Laodicea ad Mare mint, c. 202 AD. Obv. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust r. Rev. CER[ERI] FRVCTI (sic), Ceres seated left, holding corn-ears and torch RIC IV - (cf. p. 267, 355 (R) [with CERERI FRVGIS]).
Rare. Very fine.
An apparently unpublished reverse legend variety of a rare type.
