note from BCD: This well-known and
respected booklet by Professor Cahn approaches the subject, as one would
expect, from the stylistic point of view. Of considerable interest to the
inquisitive collector is that most of the photographs were from casts belonging
to the Winterthur cast collection; nearly all the remaining coins pictured were
privately owned including, no doubt, some that were the property of the good
Professor himself.
