Meletopoulos, Alexander. ΕΓΧΕΙΡΙΔΙΟΝ της ΑΡΧΑΙΑΣ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗΣ ΝΟΜΙΣΜΑΤΙΚΗΣ. Athens 1945. 8vo, recent quarter tan leather
binding, original card covers bound in, black spine letters; 136 pages, 9
plates. Minor foxing to card covers. Very Good.
A note from BCD: This is the only published photographic record of
coins from the famous Alexander N. Meletopoulos collection. It is of interest
to non-Greek readers for the photographs (made from plaster casts) of Greek
coins from the collection, now dispersed. The bibliography probably refers to
books out of the collector’s library and is quite indicative of his level of
erudition. The most recent publication in this “library” is a BCH article by
Kambanis on Athenian New Style magistrates, dated 1936.
