eAuction #51 - Literature sale III, Lot 120. Estimate: CHF 25.00
Feuardent Frères. Paris, 16-17 November 1937. Collection
de Monsieur Louis Deglatigny de Rouen. Monnaies Grecques, Romaines, Françaises,
Étrangères. 427 lots, 4 double plates. Printed green card covers as issued,
worn and split at spine. Dealer’s label. Good. Spring 174
A note from BCD: A sticker on the front cover indicates that this
catalogue comes from the library of Dr. Busso Peus while the company was still
run by him and before the 1956 move to the current address. This must be one of
the very few coin auction catalogues with double-folded plates that, when
opened, illustrate twice as many coins as they would if the plates were of
regular size. Two of these folding plates have photos of some very nice Greek
and Roman coins, many of them with pedigrees going back to earlier sales of the
company. The remaining two plates, apart from a few late Roman and Celtic,
illustrate mostly French gold. The last 36 lots describe a library of
numismatic books.
