eAuction #51 - Literature sale III, Lot 132. Estimate: CHF 35.00
Hirsch,
Jacob. Munich, 6 December 1906. Auctions-Catalog No. XVI. Griechischer Münzen mit
bedeutenden Serien von Italia, Sicilia, Thessalia, Elis u.A. 708 lots, 20
plates. Small
4to (20x26cm), halfbound black leather, marbled red boards, gilt spine letters.
Corner chipped. Very Good. Spring
374
A note from BCD: The mainland Greek coins in this auction are
outstanding and obviously some of them belong to hoards. A run of early facing
Larissa drachms, a couple of Pharsalos drachms and possibly other Larissa
material is a case in point; also, the very rich and varied Elis-Olympia run of
early and later staters. There are of course other great rarities in superb
condition, some of which could easily feature as cover coins for today’s
auction catalogues.
