Hoffmann, H. Paris, 24-26 April 1867. Description des
Médailles grecques composant le Cabinet de feu M. Prosper Dupré. 371 lots, 63
pages, 2 plates of engravings. Hand priced with names. Recent quarter leather
binding in red, gilt spine letters, extra blank pages and marbled end papers
bound in. Very Good.
A note from BCD: A rare catalogue with the two superb Dardel plates
free from the usual foxing and with prices and buyers names penciled in a later
hand. An additional bonus is a number of fascinating notes and comments in
French in a contemporary hand. These must be from someone very knowledgeable
who had access to several private and museum collections and who had examined
the coins and expressed doubts on the authenticity of some.
