Vinchon, Jean. Paris, 10-11 May 1979. Monnaies de
Collection. 968 lots, illustrations throughout. Glossy white illustrated card
covers, yellowed, lower corner bent. Interior Very Good.
A note from BCD: Ancient coin jewellery is probably the most
interesting aspect of this catalogue, at least for the ancients oriented
collector. The impressive gold medallion of Claudius II Gothicus could be from
the infamous Corsica hoard but of course there is no such mention in the lot’s
description. French and foreign coins abound in the latter part of the sale.
