eAuction #51 - Literature sale III, Lot 243. Estimate: CHF 20.00
Revue
Numismatique. Paris. 4th ser. Tome 1,
1897. 8vo, quarter cream leather, marbled boards, gilt letters on black spine
label. 548 + lxviii pages, 12 plates. Includes: E. Babelon, “La collection
Waddington au Cabinet des Médailles; inventaire sommaire” and T. Reinach,
“Apollon Derrônaios.” Edges foxed, owner’s label. Good.
A note from BCD: The Waddington material is priceless for research
purposes and will provide many pleasant surprises for the meticulous Asia Minor
specialist researcher. Reinach combines ancient numismatics with linguistics
and some history while Rostovtsew (or Rostovtzeff as he is now known) is at
home with ancient weights.
