Perrhaiboi, Thessaly. AR Hemidrachm (16 mm, 2.82 g), circa mid 5th Century BC. Obv. Hero to right, with petasos over his shoulders and chlamys tied at his neck, holding with both his hands a band passing around the head of a bull’s forepart leaping to right; below, star. Rev. Π - E, forepart of bridled horse to right. BCD 541 (this coin).
Rare. Beautifully toned and very well struck, exceptional for the issue. Very minor flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
