East India Company, Madras Presidency. Gold Mohur (Ashrafi) 1820 (27-28 mm, ,11.57 g). Obv. Coat of arms of the EIC. Rev. Persian legend. KM 421.1.
Traces of melting, otherwise, very fine.
Along with a certificate stating that the coin had been recovered in October 1965 from the wreck of the English sailing ship FAME which was driven onto the rocks at Sea Point, Table Bay on the night of 14th June 1822.
