Kings of Parthia. Mithradates II (123-88 BC). AR Tetradrachm (31 mm, 15.70 g). Obv. Draped, diademed and bearded bust left. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΑΡΣΑΚΟΥ ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ
Arsakes, founder of the dynasty, wearing Persian costume and diademed tiara, seated right on omphalos, holding bow with both his outstretched hands; in exergue, monogram TV. Sellwood 67, 24.4 var. (palm to right). Shore 99, 67 (same). Cf. M&M GmbH 30 (2009), 1118-9.
Rare without palm branch. Good very fine, minor weakness on reverse.
