eAuction #12, Lot 16. Estimate: CHF 320.00
Argos (?), Peloponnesos, or an Akarnanian mint. AE Dichalkon (18 mm, 3.97 g), c. 3rd Century BC. Obv. Head of Athena wearing crested Corinthian helmet right. Rev. AP-ΓEI, Tyche standing left, holding patera and cornucopiae. BMC 19 (as Argos); Hunter 18 (same); SNG Cop. 66 (same), BCD Peloponnesos 1119 (this coin).
Very rare. Very fine. Tentatively attributed to an Akarnanian mint rather than Argos by the BCD cataloguers.
From the BCD collection and ex LHS 96 (2006), 1119.
