Constantius I Chlorus as Caesar (293-305 AD). AE Follis (26 mm, 15.82 [!] g), Treveri (Trier) mint, c. 296/297 AD. Obv. CONSTANTIVS NOB CAES, Laureate head right. Rev. GENIO POPVLI ROMANI, Genius standing left, modius on head, naked but for chlamys over left shoulder, right holding patera, left cornucopiae; B - Γ across fields, TR in exergue. RIC VI Treveri 213a.
Extremely heavy specimen. About extremely fine and nearly fully silvered.
The weight of the A-C/Γ and TR series of 296/297 usually ranges between 8.5 and 10.5 grams. This specimen is struck on an extremely thick and heavy flan.
