Parthian Kings. Vologases VI. (208-228 AD). AR Drachm (18-20 mm, 3.67 g), Ekbatana mint. Obv. Diademed bust left, long pointed beard, wearing tiara with earflap; behind, abbreviated
name in Aramaic Parthian script. Rev. Arsakes I seated right on throne, holding bow, Parthian legend around; monogram below bow. Sellwood 88.19; Shore 458.
Sharp strike from fresh dies. Superb extremely fine.

Vologases VI. was the last Parthian king. He defeated the Roman invasion army under Macrinus in 217 AD but was overthrown himself somewhat later by Ardashir I., the founder of the Sasanian empire.
