Hostilianus (249-251 AD). AE21 (6.60 g), Anazarbos, Cilicia, 250 AD. Obv. ΓAI OY OC MЄC KYINTOC KAI, bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind. Rev. ANAZARBOY ЄNΔ MHT ΘΞC, Dionysos standing left, holding thyrsos and kantharos (?), panther at feet. SNG Levante -; SNG BN -; SNG Aulock -; SNG Leypold -; SNG Glasgow -; SNG PFPS -; Lindgren I+III -.
Extremely rare. Rough surfaces, otherwise, about very fine.
Cf. SNG Levante 1503 etc. for the rather common type with Apollo reverse, struck from the same obverse die.
