From the collection of Kurt Zimmermann (1937-2025) of Winterthur, long-serving numismatist at Schweizerische Kreditanstalt and Leu Numismatik, privately acquired from Schweizerische Kreditanstalt in March 1973 and previously from the collection of Croatian field athlete, footballer, handball player and coach, and numismatist Irislav Dolenec.
Irislav Dolenec (1921-2009) was a Yugoslav-Croatian track and field athlete, footballer, handball player and coach, and numismatist. Over the course of his long coaching career, he led, among others, the Swiss national handball team (1969-1972) and the first team of Pfadi Winterthur (1973-1975). In later years, he devoted himself primarily to numismatics - a passion that remained with him until his death in 2009.
