eAuction #1, Lot 133. Estimate: CHF 100.00
Claudius II. (268-270 AD). AE Antoninianus (22-23 mm, 4.13 g), Antiochia (Antakya). Obv. IMP C CLAVDIVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind. Rev. REGI ARTIS, Vulcanus standing right, holding hammer and tongs. RIC V, 1, p. 229, 215.
Rare. Good fine.
An interesting issue, hailing Vulcanus as "king of the arts".
