Geta, as Caesar (198-209 AD). AE Assarion (22mm, 4.85 g), Boiai, Peloponnesos. Obv. ΛOY CЄΠTI ΓЄTAC, bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind. Rev. BOIATWN, Tyche standing left, holding phiale in her right hand and cornucopia with her left. BCD Peloponnesos 960 (same dies, sold for 1'100 CHF); NCP -.
Extremely rare, possibly the second known. Very fine.
From the BCD collection, with his ticket indicating no acquisition price but "expensive!".
Boiai lay on Cape Malea in the extrem southeast of the Peloponnesos.
