Kings of Bactria. Diodotos I (c. 250-230 BC), in the name of Antiochos II. Theos. AV Stater (15 mm, 8.24 g), about 250 BC, Baktra (?).
Obv. Diademed head of Diodotos I. right.
Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIOXOY, Zeus advancing left, holding thunderbolt and aegis, eagle at feet; N in left field.

Thick flan. Without the usual test cut. About extremely fine.
Diodotos was a Seleucid governor of Bactria who started to secede from his sovereign around 250 BC and later established an independent kingdom in Bactria.
