Umayyads. Time of Al-Walid and Sulayman. AV 1/3 Dinar (13 mm, 1.40 g), 96 AH = 715 AD.

Very rare. Extremely fine.

From 91-103 AH, the Umayyads issued 1/2 and 1/3 Dinars to copy the Byzantine fractions of the Solidus: the Semissis and Tremissis. These 1/2 and 1/3 Dinars, called nisf and thulth, are all very rare today.
