eAuction #28, Lot 148. Estimate: CHF 5.00
Sear, David R. “A hoard of ‘double-headed’ Imperial bronzes from six mints of Moesia Inferior and Thrace,” Seaby’s Coin and Medal Bulletin, Sep. 1969, Suppl., 16pp. Very Good.
A note from BCD: David Sear, then at the helm of the Ancient department at Seaby’s, with lovely Helen as his assistant, must have been quite excited when the firm acquired this hoard, hence the special non-commercial supplement (note the lack of printed prices). Today of course we see so much of this material that such a hoard would hardly be worth recording. Nevertheless it is a commendable effort and a neat publication with nice photography for the period.
